The Career Strategies + Development Committee often provides support to our members during times of job transitions and connects them to new opportunities. Recently, Janet Morra, Principal at Margulies Perruzzi and a long-term committee member, shared a great “success story,” one worth celebrating!
Mackenzie “Mack” Blalock is one of the newest employees at Margulies Perruzzi. While working as an office administrator for her former employer, a colleague introduced her to CoreNet and, specifically, the CREST Program, a summer internship program that provides opportunities to students from diverse backgrounds.
Mack was accepted into the CREST program and attended the annual CS+D Summer Soire event. It was at the soiree that she was introduced to Nathan Turner, President of Margulies Perruzzi. The introduction led to a lunch, which led to an interview, and the rest was history - Mack was offered a position and happily accepted!
It was a CoreNet member and Boston Architecture College alumni who encouraged her to pursue her Master of Architecture degree. She attributes her wonderful network and The New England Chapter of CoreNet Global for propelling her career in the AEC industry. Essentially, CoreNet was involved at every step in her career journey to the position she holds today.
The Career Strategies + Development committee’s tagline is spot on: It’s all about connections and conversations!
