Sarah K. Abrams is Senior Vice President and Head of Global Real Estate at Iron Mountain, the world’s leader in information management and a public REIT. Sarah leads a global team responsible for real estate strategy, M&A due diligence, transactions (leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, sale/leasebacks), capital project delivery, and facility management for an 85MSF portfolio across ~70 countries and for delivering sustainability projects around the world to assist the company in its commitment to be net zero by 2040. She serves on Iron Mountain’s Senior Executive Disclosure Committee and is a director of the Iron Mountain PAC.
Prior to joining Iron Mountain in 2012, Sarah was the president of Fidelity Real Estate Company, the corporate real estate division of Fidelity Investments, where she led the team responsible for providing corporate real estate and location strategy services to Fidelity's business units. She joined Fidelity in 1996 from USTrust, where she led the Real Estate Owned department.
Sarah holds a BA in Economics, magna cum laude from Boston University, a JD degree from Cornell Law School, and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she also holds an adjunct lecturer appointment.
A member of CoreNet Global since its founding, Sarah is a past president and current Advisory Board member of the New England chapter. She received the Global Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year Award from CoreNet Global in October 2013, the New England Chapter of CoreNet Global President’s Award in 2018 and was inducted into the Distinguished Leaders Circle of CoreNet Global in 2019, their lifetime achievement award. She regularly teaches the capstone case for the CoreNet’s MCR designation.
Sarah is a former chairman and current Board member of the Massachusetts Chapter of NAIOP-The Commercial Real Estate Development Association, a past president of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Boston, and previously served as a mayoral appointee to the Boston Industrial Finance Agency, a member of the Industry Advisory Panel for the US Department of State Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations, a member of the Cambridge YWCA Board of Directors and a member of the Campus Planning Committee for the Fessenden School. She enjoys playing golf, watching Boston sports teams, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
